Located adjacent to the Barrhaven United Church (BUC) is the Barrhaven Non-Profit Housing Inc. (BNPHI) Steepleview Crossing community. The property on which it is built belongs to BUC and is leased to BNPHI under an Ontario Government program. It was built at the same time as the BUC building, and is run by an independent Board of Directors, most of whom are members of BUC.
There are 41 units, including apartments and townhouses. Fourteen apartment units are accessible and seven additional stand-alone units are for environmentally sensitive occupants. An agreement with the Ontario March of Dimes provides attendant care to the residents of several units. Rent is geared to the income of the tenant.
The BNPHI Board of Directors purpose is to oversee the management of the housing corporation, set policy and ensure its financial viability. Certain positions such as President, Vice-President Client Relations, Vice-President Operations, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary perform operational functions in the day-to-day management.
